The Cakejar - Senior Show Project

In my final semester of college, I was given the opportunity to submit a proposal to have my body of work shown in the student art gallery of the University. The show allows the student to feature their specific medium and show the campus community their skill set that they have acquired in their years of education. I was awarded a show and chose to feature my medium, graphic design, in a way that had never been done before. I created a business around a home made product called cake in a jar. My goal was to use my skill set to illustrate how graphic design can enhance a business, entice viewers, and sell a product. I converted the student gallery into a retail store, called the Cakejar.

In an effort to illustrate how brands should appeal to multiple demographics, I created four unique categories of flavor and design. There are four different flavors in each category.

I also designed t-shirts using the brand colors. Each shirt featured a different quote.
I designed a product catalogue with images and descriptions of all of the products
I had a very specific aesthetic in mind as I was designing the show, and needed furniture that would match what I envisioned. I took sketches of my furniture designs to a carpenter and had every piece of shelving and framing custom made. Here are a few of them:
